#1 THE RUSSIAN CONTACTS
Many Trump supporters blame Hillary Clinton for the investigation of the Russian collusion. But the contacts between the Trump campaign and the Russians began far before Hillary or any Democrats knew anything about it. And the intelligence community was involved much before Hillary or any Democrats knew anything about it.
#2 THE MOSCOW TRUMP TOWER
While Trump was running for office, he had his lawyer and a Russian American gangster business partner working on a Moscow Trump Tower project.
#3 CAMPAIGN MANAGER WAS A RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA AGENT
Trump hired Paul Manafort to be his campaign manager. Manafort was a well-known Russian propaganda agent who shared election polling data with the Russians.
#4 THE TRUMP TOWER MEETING
Some long-term Russian friends of Trump set up a meeting in the Trump Tower with a Kremlin-connected Russian Lawyer and a Russian Businessman with experience with cyber hacking cases.
#5 ASKING FOR RUSSIAN HELP
Trump stood up on live TV and asked Russia for help with his election campaign. It was the famous “Russia if you are listening” speech heard around the world.
#6 MUELLER INVESTIGATION
Robert Mueller was a former Republican FBI director. His special investigation documents many interactions between the Trump team and the Russians. He got a number of the Trump team members indicted and convicted of felonies.
#7 SENATE INVESTIGATION
The Senate Russian investigation was longer and more extensive than the Mueller investigation. It was a counterintelligence investigation rather than a criminal investigation. After documenting and agreeing about an extensive amount of collusion, by the 5th report, the majority of Republicans voted no collusion.
#8 MICHAEL FLYNN
Former general Michael Flynn was a paid agent of Turkey and Russia before Trump appointed him to be US. National Security Advisor. He was never charged for all his anti-American activities. He was convicted for lying to the FBI about his discussion with the Russian Ambassador. This was only part of his collusion with the Russians.
#9 ROGER STONE
The Russians hacked into DNC servers and dumped the info on WikiLeaks. Roger Stone is a longtime friend of Donald Trump. He was the liaison between the Russian stolen information that was dumped on WikiLeaks and the Trump team.
#10 REWARDING RUSSIA
Russia was rewarded with a reduction of sanctions and business deals.
#11 CONCLUSION
The Trump team did ultimately reward Russia for their help getting Trump elected. The American sanctions against the Russians were reduced. The evidence of Russian collusion is abundant. It is well documented in court trials and congressional investigations. The evidence is publicly available. The evidence is indisputable. The Trump team asked for help from the Russians. The Trump team received help from the Russians. The Trump team rewarded help from the Russians. Most people would call that collusion.
THE RUSSIAN CONTACTS
British and European intelligence agencies that were monitoring high level Russians started picking up communications with the Trump team in 2015 and early 2016. The British intelligence agencies were the first group to notice the Trump team communicating with Russians (1). Numerous western intelligence agencies from Australia to Estonia reported picking up Trump team communications with high level Russians. (1), (2). Later British news sources reported contacts between the Russians and the Trump team (3). The Mueller Report later documented the extensive contacts between the Trump team and the Russians (4). Later the Republican led senate investigation more extensively documented the Trump team communications with the Russians (5).
THE MOSCOW TRUMP TOWER
While Trump was running for election his had his personal lawyer Michael Cohon working on a project for a Trump Tower (6). The key connection for this project was a Russian American gangster named Felix Sater that was a previous Trump business partner (7). Sater had significant business history with Trump including in New York( 7,10), Florida (8) and Colorado (9). The Moscow Trump tower deal was extensively reported even by the American business press (10,11,12) Later Trump denied knowing Felix Sater (14,15,16). Later the Moscow Trump tower plan got connected to the Ukraine peace plan that Russia wanted (17,18).
CAMPAIGN MANAGER WAS A RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA AGENT
Trump hired Paul Manafort to be his campaign manager. Manafort is an American with a long history of working as a Russian propaganda agent (19). He is one of the most well known and highest paid Russian propaganda agents (20). Many years ago George H.W. Bush said that Manafort was working against American interests in the Eastern Europe. When Trump hired Manafort he was already coincidentally living in the Trump tower. Manafort and his assistant Gates had previously been working in the Ukraine with a Russian Intelligence agent named Konstantin Klimnik (21). Manafort was indicted and convicted of numerous felonies including failing to pay taxes on many millions of dollars he was paid by the Russians (24). During his trial Gates testified that he and Manafort shared election polling data with the Russian agent Klimnik about the critical swing states (22,23). Trump failed to get a majority of the popular vote but he won enough of the critical swing states to win in the electoral college.
THE TRUMP TOWER MEETING
The top of the Trump campaign team had a meeting in the Trump tower to get dirt on Hillary Clinton (25). The meeting included campaign manager Paul Manafort, son in law Kushner and Trumps son Don Jr. They met with a Kremlin connected lawyer named Natalia Veselnitskaya (26, 27, 28). The meeting was organized by long term friends of Trump (25). They sent an email saying that they had sensitive information that was part of the Russian govts support for Trump (25). There was an initial claim that this meeting was about adoption of Russian kids. One of the people attending the meeting Rinat Akhmetshin, had experience in cases involving cyber hacking (29, 30. 31.32)
ASKING FOR RUSSIAN HELP
Millions of people around the world heard Trump live on TV asking for Russia’s help with his campaign (33 ,39). They tried to hack Hillarys accounts but they could not (34,36). But they hacked into the DNC (36 ,40). They got info exposing disagreements between the Hillary faction and the Bernie Sanders faction of the democrats. They dumped this information on Wikileaks (42) . Trump famously replied “I love wiki leaks” (41) The investigation by the Republican Mueller failed to make the connection between Trumps request for help from the Russians and the immediate response by the Russians (35)
MUELLER INVESTIGATION
The Mueller investigation exposed many connections between then Trump team and the Russians (43). Mueller Indicted and got convictions for numerous members of the Trump team (44, 45) . Mueller provided information to congress about the Russians that hacked into the DNC. They worked at the internet Research agency in St Peters burg, Russia and were indicted for interfering with the US election (47). Trumps Attorney General William Barr redacted many key parts of Mueller's report to prevent the public from seeing the details. (48). In Mueller's final report he said that Trump was not exonerated (46, 48). He left it up to congress to decide what to do with the info that he had uncovered.
SENATE INVESTIGATION
The senate investigation into the Russian interference with the US election was a counterintelligence investigation that was much more extensive than the Mueller report (50). It lasted over 3 years and produced 5 volumes of reports with over 1300 pages. The head of the committee was Republican senator Marco Rubio. “The committee report found that the Russian government had engaged in an "extensive campaign" to sabotage the election in favor of Donald Trump, which included assistance from some of Trump's own advisers” (50, 51). They concluded that both son don jr and son-in-law Kushner had “significant connections to Russian government, including the Russian intelligence services.” (51) . This report did conclude that Konstantin Klimnik , the long term partner of Manafort, Trumps campaign manager , was in fact a Russian intelligence officer (52). His name appears 800 times in the senate report. Trump denied that he spoke with Roger Stone about the Wikileaks dumps. But this committee concluded that Trump did speak with Roger stone and other associates about the wiki leak dumps multiple times (52) . The senate reports proved that the Russian collusion was real. The senate report Mueller was right and Trump was wrong (55). The 5th and final report from the senate committee was almost 1000 pages. It completely repudiated Trumps claim that there was no reason to investigate whether his team conspired with the Russians (53). The senate report questioned the truthfulness of then Trump family (56) and made some criminal referrals of Trump team members including Steve Bannon (57). At the end 6 Republicans voted that there was no collusion. 2 Republicans Richard Burr and Susan Collins did not agree. In the first 4 reports there was bipartisan agreement about the extensive communication between the Trump team and the Russians . In the heavily redacted 5th report the Chairman assumed the position of Trump defender and decided that there was to Russian collusion. Five other Republicans on that committee voted to agree with him. Two Republican, Richard Burr and Susan Collins did not agree. It is ironic that Republican senator Marco Rubio , after seeing so much evidence of the Russian collusion details and initially agreeing about it he later sought to be Trumps vice president running mate for the 2024 election.
MICHAEL FLYNN
Trump appointed Michael Flynn to be the US National security advisor. He was a paid agent of turkey and Russia (62,63). The former general Michael Flynn has a history of bad judgement and questionable activities. . He and his son were involved in the pizza gate scandal where they claimed that Hillary Clinton was running a child trafficking ring in the basement of a pizza parlor that had no basement (58). He was reportedly involved in a plot with the president of Turkey to kidnap an American resident and send him to turkey (59, 60, 61). He was involved with another Trump team member named Tom Barrack to sell US nuclear technology to Muslim countries in a partnership with the Russians (65,66). He had a discussion with the Russian ambassador where he discussed reducing the sanctions of Russia in exchange for their help with Trumps election (67). He did not yet have a govt office. He was fired for lying to the FBI. But his real crime was collusion with an enemy of democracy. He was not charged with some of the more serious things that he did.
ROGER STONE
Roger stone was known as a political dirty trickster since the Nixon days. He is a long term friend of Trump. He was the liaison between the Trump team and WikiLeaks and the Russians (68) 69b) He was convicted of multiple felonies. (69,69c) . He later was involved in trying to help Trump overturn Bidens election and he got angry that trump did not give him a second pardon (69d)
REWARDING RUSSIA
The Sanctions on Russia were reduced (70, 71). This specifically included Russian companies owned by the Russian oligarch Deripaska who was the major sponsor of Manafort. Also the Russians were allowed to put an aluminum plant in Kentucky, the home state of the Republican house majority leader Mitch McConnell (72, 73).
CONCLUSION
The Trump team did ultimately reward Russia for their help getting Trump elected. The American sanctions against the Russians were reduced. The evidence of the Russian collusion is abundant. It is well documented in court trials and congressional investigations. The evidence is publicly available. The evidence is indisputable. The Trump team asked for help from the Russians. The Trump team received help from the Russians. The Trump team rewarded help from the Russians. Most people would call that collusion. THE SECOND TRUMP ADMINSTRATION
Trump's representative in the UN has recently voted with Russia, North Korea, and Belarus against democracy in Ukraine (74, 75, 76). Trump has followed this up with cutting off supplies and intelligence sharing with Ukraine (77). This has been a significant disadvantage for Ukraine (78). A number of Republicans have urged Trump to resume sharing intelligence information with Ukraine (79, 80). The US agreed to resume intelligence sharing with Ukraine, but not military supplies, after Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire. Russia has a long history of breaking agreements with Ukraine going back to 1994 when Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons (80a, 80b).
Trump has continued to distribute Russian propaganda. He has recently said that Russia has surrounded the Ukrainian army in the Kursk oblast. This has been disputed by several intelligence sources (81, 82). He has called Zelensky a dictator and claimed that Ukraine started the war with Russia.
It appears that Trump is firmly committed to assisting Russia in achieving in negotiations what they have not been able to achieve on the battlefield. Trump is now positioning America as an ally of Russia (83). There have been recent reports that Trump's relationship with Russia goes back much further than most people know. In addition to all that was previously known about the connection between Trump and his team (84 ) there are now more similar reports coming out (85, 86). There is now a new book that describes more details of Trump's connections with Russia (87, 88). At this point in time, it appears that it is only the majority of Republicans in Congress that are stopping Trump from giving all of Ukraine to Russia.
